Bauhaus Projects
Since 2016 Benjamin has collaborated with Jenny Patschovsky and Cox Ahlers for Atemzug and the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in site specific creative processes and performances. Benjamin's personal research into the intersections of circus and other art forms has been a driving force in these projects.
Each project takes inspiration from one of the Bauhaus Masters and their particular interest. Laslo Moholy Nadj, Johannes Itten, Xanti Shavinsky and Oskar Schlemmer have been sources of inspiration for international collaborations with European circus schools, local theatre groups and international performing artists. Collaborators have included musician Hainbach, Video artist Phillip Geist and sound artist Lukas Taido.
The spirit of artistic research, exploration and the development of consciousness in creative process has been at the forefront of the work, producing ground breaking performances and reinterpreting the original ideals of the Bauhaus modernist and the later post-modernist movements to find out more about contemporaneity in circus art.
