Benjamin Richter is a performing artist working at the intersections of contemporary circus, dance, and performance art for over 30 years. He has developed a unique artistic voice encompassing his playful somatic, and object-oriented choreographic practices.

He creates and performs pieces, both as a soloist and in various collaborations with the Bauhaus Dessau foundation, Atemzug Cologne and the Czech association for Choreographic Development. He has collaborated with the world renowned Gandini Juggling in various productions since 1993.

Benjamin has spent decades in artistic research, deconstructing and reinterpreting both his own practices, and those of the countless other projects he has supported.  He is the originator of the research and creation method "The Language of Objects" (TLO), that has influenced a generation of contemporary circus thinking and authorship.

He has designed, led and taught BA, MA and freestanding courses at the Stockholm University of the Arts since 2003, and collaborates with PHD candidates in artistic research projects.

Benjamin currently performs his solo piece "TAKTiL" in museums, galleries, theatres and other performance venues. He is currently collaborating with circus dramaturge Jenny Patschovsky on a new object oriented performance which will premiere in 2024.
