Benjamin Richter is a juggling artist working at the intersections of contemporary circus, performance art and dance for over 35 years. Influenced by post-modern art, and new materialist philosophies, he has  developed  a  pioneering and unique choreographic style encompassing his playful physical, object-oriented and improvisational practices.

Benjamin creates and performs both as a soloist and in various collaborations with, amongst others, the Bauhaus Dessau foundation, SE.S.TA, Atemzug and Gandini Juggling. He has performed his own works in 25 countries worldwide and has made several appearances at the Edinburgh International Festival, the London International Mime Festival, Fira Tàrrega and Tête à Tête Rastatt.

Benjamin has spent decades in artistic research and teaching, deconstructing and enriching both his own practices and those of the countless other artists he has supported. He has designed creative courses and taught BA, MA, PHD and independent students at the Stockholm University of the Arts since 2003 and holds a professorship at the École Superieur des Arts du Cirque in Brussels. He co-edited the 2024 issue of Voices Magazine for the Circus Dance Festival. and continues to create and perform with enthusiasm.

Benjamin likes to laugh.
