Jenny Patschovsky is a circus dramaturge, editor and networker. She has been involved in contemporary circus for over twenty years. She helped establish the German Federal Association of Contemporary Circus and founded the Cologne-based association Atemzug, which has been creating interdisciplinary circus performances since 2006.


Jenny initiated and directed the Cologne-based Labor Cirque, the first research laboratory for contemporary circus in Germany. She developed pieces for the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and researched the interfaces between Bauhaus and circus and contemporary clowning.


She is part of the VOICES team at the Cologne CircusDanceFestival and, together with Tim Behren, published the workbook ‘Circus in Flux’ with Theater der Zeit in 2022. From 2023 to 2026, she built up a circus network in the Ruhr area as an employee of the Projektbüro Neuer Zirkus Ruhr and completed her further training as a transformation manager for sustainable culture at the end of 2025.


Since 2016, she has been working with Benjamin Richter on the topics of circus and Bauhaus, contemporary clowning and body-object presence.

Benjamin Richter is a pioneering juggling artist working at the intersections of contemporary circus and dance for over 35 years. Influenced by new materialist philosophies and clowning, he has  developed a unique choreographic style encompassing his playful object-oriented and improvisational practices.


Benjamin creates and performs in various collaborations and has worked with Gandini Juggling, Cirkus Cirkör, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and Atemzug. He has performed his own works in over 25 countries worldwide, including appearances at the Berliner Tanztage, LIMF, and the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival.


From his beginnings as a street performer, Benjamin has spent decades in artistic research, sharing insights though creating, teaching, deconstructing and enriching both his own practices and those of countless other artists. He has designed courses and taught BA, MA, PHD and independent students at the Stockholm University of the Arts since 2003, where he designed and led the Artistic Development Course. Benjamin currently holds a professorship at the École Superieur des Arts du Cirque in Brussels. He co-edited the 2024 issue of Voices Magazine "Re-Clowning" for the Circus Dance Festival. and continues to create and perform with enthusiasm.
