"Juggling is an art form that deals directly with tactility, materiality and sensitivity in the interaction of humans and objects.
As a contemporary juggling artist, I don't only wish to demonstrate virtuosity, I wish to express something about the world through a dialogue between an object and a body that cannot be expressed in any other manner.
When objects are skillfully manipulated according to their inherent qualities, the perception of their presence is enhanced in the onlooker. Associations and metaphors that cannot be evoked with classical juggling props, receive space to arise in the audience. The value of each object becomes more visible and tangible to the onlooker potentially leading them to a new found appreciation of and a perhaps, more sensitive approach to their general environment.
This appreciation of our surroundings is an important basis and prerequisite for sustainability.”
